John Osborn Hurston, has worked extensively in finance and corporate management. He currently works as an Financial Analyst for Otis Spunkmeyer, Inc., headquartered in San Leandro . In addition to working with Urban.Net, John also serves on the Board of Directors of the Berkeley chapter of Rebuilding Together – a national non profit that makes free renovations the homes of the elderly and disabled.

John is also a proud member of the hip-hop generation. He has almost a decade of experience working as hip-hop DJ, host and event planner.

John earned his BA in Political Science and Public Policy from the University of California at Berkeley , and his MBA from Golden Gate University in San Francisco . He and his wife Shanta reside in San Leandro .
