I am a native of Chicago , but have called the East Bay my home for more than 20 years now. I studied Civil Engineering both in Illinois (U of I, B.S.) and California (UC Berkeley, M.S.) and currently work for the City of Fairfield reviewing construction drawings and calculations. Although my job has its mathematical side, I also get to be close to a true passion of mine – architecture and design. It is a gift to be able to earn a living doing what I really enjoy, made possible not only by hard work, but more importantly, by the influence and vision of others in my life.

I truly believe that no matter what background or challenges anyone faces, we all bring God-given talents to the table. Cultivating those talents and inspiring confidence are crucial in bringing them to light. A little encouragement and support goes a long way – that’s true both for adults and especially kids. I see my own need for these as well as in my wife and two children. I myself struggled with reading as a student and was fortunate enough to have a relative take an interest and tutor me for years. My desire is to help turn the things kids “have” to learn for success in the future (like math) into something they “want” to learn.
