Saving Grace

We rise to go to the church in a hurry.

We get ready, and eat breakfast in a scurry.

My husband spent time with you this morning,

He went through your Word with his heart forlorning.

But what have I to say about me?

What have I done to spend time with thee?

I feel remorse that I missed my time with you.

I feel like I need and miss you too.

Help me Father to be close to you.

Please help me my God—or I shall be through.

My energy dries, like my soul within,

When without you I forget to spend.

I pray this day may be filled

With your sweet love and grace.

Help my sin, Father, to be tilled,

And mend my soul like beautiful lace.
