Luke 17:4 (NLT)
Even if he wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, forgive him."
Bitterness enters my soul
It thrives and grows
Until my heart forms a seel
And every part of my life it sows.
The bitterness is deep
Its hard to peer past it
Until the evil thoughts seep
And my enemies in their last pit.
The pit I throw them in
Is deep and filled with darkness
And my unowned bitterness may pin
Their life into unmarkness.
The bitterness makes threats
As I tell enemies they have no life
While it begins and sets
Others down a road of strife.
Strife is deadly wrong
- it sings a very dark song . . .
What does it mean to free?
How can I release?
How can I begin to see
That this strife must cease?
To God my heart will go,
From God my own forgiveness lives.
Or my soul will not grow
And they too He loves and is
- deserving unending forgiveness . . .
My enemy is not, for then
Their lives do not deserve
Strife, bitterness against men
But for me to learn to serve.
God forgives – so why shouldn’t I?
He loves, so why can’t my –
- hearts can mend -
- hearts to be broken –
- then God will send –
- and to me He has spoken –
It is TIME . . .
