John 14:1-14 (NLT)

Jesus, the Way to the Father

1"Don't be troubled. You trust God, now trust in me. 2There are many rooms in my Father's home, and I am going to prepare a place for you. If this were not so, I would tell you plainly. 3When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. 4And you know where I am going and how to get there."

5"No, we don't know, Lord," Thomas said. "We haven't any idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?"

6Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. 7If you had known who I am, then you would have known who my Father is. From now on you know him and have seen him!"

8Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and we will be satisfied."

9Jesus replied, "Philip, don't you even yet know who I am, even after all the time I have been with you? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking to see him? 10Don't you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I say are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me. 11Just believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. Or at least believe because of what you have seen me do.

12"The truth is, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. 13You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, because the work of the Son brings glory to the Father. 14Yes, ask anything in my name, and I will do it!

Loneliness pierces their hearts

- darkness falls in the home.

While lives fall to parts

- and their minds began to roam.

They don’t know if they will leave

- they don’t and can’t even cry

And as if their hearts are wrapped in a sleeve

- they begin to want to die.

Some will cry out to others

- yet many will not.

Rarely comes love from fathers and mothers

- so in turn, they will have forgot.

They don’t remember what is love.

- They don’t know how to feel.

In their hearts taking a tally of

- so that cold hearts can seel.

All defenses go round

- when darkness comes to call

so they cannot hear a sound

- and so in turn they refuse to fall.

But you see, fallen they already have

- when they decided not to feel

they don’t allow their hearts to unrav

- they don’t want to heal.

How can we help their hearts ? !

- what a difficult task is this !

What their lives are out of sorts

- and its love that they miss.

First we need to fight for the child

- get them out of the dark.

Search for their thoughts though wild,

- and upon their hearts make a mark.

They will need to learn God’s plan

- they will to Him need to call.

And learn why they first ran

- and what happened before the fall.

It is not their fault the darkness came

- the fault lies in sin

because all our sins are the same

- and that is what did their hearts in.

In order to heal

- forgiveness must come

In order to reverse the seel

- to Him they must run.

The children must learn

- that God is their ‘dad’

They need to let Him burn

- the pain out of hearts so sad.

Their saddened hearts are numb

- their lives may be scattered

but if we share with them our love and some

- all of our hope

- then their lives may no more be shattered.

So let us shout out the way to mend

- let us go forth and share

Because God’s love does not bend

- and He sees they need care.

God needs us to give our all.

- He needs all our hearts.

Help the children before they fall

- and their hearts die cold to parts.
