A PRAYER FOR LOVE

The prayers of many are but just a few,

Only a few, we think, go up to you.

But I know different, Oh Lord of mine.

I know that throughout our lives, and throughout time,

You do hear our prayers, and you hear mine.

Many a prayers I have up to you tossed,

Many a sleepless nights, for me, have been lost.

And through all my tears that were shed

While I lay prostrate on my bed,

You have shown me, my God,

That you do answer prayers, even one’s ending in a sob.

For He loves us so dearly, you see,

He loves us more than the sparrow in the tree.

He counts each hair upon our heads,

He watches us sleep on our beds.

God is all grace, truth and LOVE,

Don’t think that your worth is less than a dove.

Our lives are our gift from God, you see,

So don’t despair—I don’t—because he loves me.
